Fun or Freaky Facts Friday!  Yes, I'm doing it.
I stumbled upon a site and thought I'd give you a hoot of a laugh for your Friday.  Set you off good for the holiday weekend.  Oh, I picked some winners.  The ones I've never heard of anyway.
So here goes...

DIY Projects!

Oh. My. Goodness.  I have so many projects to do!  I have to make a cute sign for my niece's bedroom.  I promised my sister.  The sign is with the You are my sunshine lyrics and I'm searching all over for the best way to do it.  Sorry, I'm not THAT great at projects, YET! This is one I want to come out perfect.

So I'm looking at this blog, brassyapple.blogspot.com, and WOW!  It sent me to Pinterest and she has projects galore!  I was in heaven.  I know many of you have your projects, and of those I've seen, what great work you all do.  I'm going to be that person, soon. With your help of course ;-)

These pieces are a picnic table with 4-benches (2-long for each side and 2-short for both ends) & a garden bench, (bottom, right). It is all piled up in my garage, making me crazy!! Being the "everything has to have it's place, NOW" type person,  I have to get it done!! Now!  My hubster was kind enough to sand it all down for me while I was away vacay'ing with my girl friend.  I'm a lucky gal.  

I'm trying to decide what to do with the picnic table and benches. Here is where YOU come in.  Should I leave it natural and put a shiny clear coat on, or make it a color such as the same blue (see below), to match everything else?  (That could be a bit too much.) Personally, I want to make it white.  A nice clean, shiny, white.  It would match the trim on the house, garage, and the pergola.  I'm hoping for more votes there. 

The bench will be the same blue as the planters I did, back in July. It will sit out in the yard, in front of some trees in a corner.  I thought it would look nice, from the pale tan, or whatevertheheck color that was.  Any comments on this project is welcomed.

So, I visited my mother last week, in FL.  I brought home a couple of pieces that to me, are as old as the hills.  We had them in our house when I was in grade school. Here is my dilemma...WHAT THE HECK DO I DO?? I'm guessing its pine.  Definitely not oak.  I guess the hubster would know, but he's not here to ask at the moment.  I'm trying to decide if I want to make it a beach theme, or a guest room piece. I'd have to make it contemporary looking, slightly anyway.  Maybe a night stand?  It's on you, again! Have at it.

This is a nice piece also.  Well, it will be.  Some issues with this one though.  As you can see in the top right photo, it seems to have a piece of formica or plastic on top and around the sides.  Looking through the crack, it looks like two pieces of 'something'.  Hello YOU!! Should I take that completely off and open a can of worms, or slap on some chalkboard paint?  I'm kind of thinking to take that off and see what it has going on underneath.  Make it a real project, ha!  Do you pro's, know?

I am looking forward to the feedback.  After this holiday weekend school is in session, and I'm getting on with all my projects.  I'm pretty excited actually.

I know! Today is usually my Wednesday Wish List day, but I'm behind in my posts.
Soooooo....here ya' go!

My Beauty Box 5 arrived the other day, and I'm here to tell you all about it!  Check it out.  

Be a Bombshell** Eyeshadow, although it looks a bit lavender in the photo, it is a light blue.  It's a full size too!  Although, I stopped wearing that stuff in 10th grade (or was it 11th?).  It wouldn't look good on me now, so I'm pushing it on to a gal I know it will look good on. Hahaha, you should see the picture when I did wear it.  Too bad I'm too lazy to go find it, but I'd probably have a lot of comments.  Maybe that's what it takes ;)

Swissco Nail File, Who doesn't need a nail file?  With bling, for that matter.  Loving this accessory.  

Bask Heavenly Silk Daily Skin Lotion, I actually liked this product.  It didn't smell too bad (I say that because I'm so allergy prone to perfume), but it felt nice, and silky.  Another nice thing about it, is it's not heavy.  Perfect for the warm weather.  It claims to have anti-aging and firming benefits, packed with vitamins.  I'm a bit past that point, haha, but maybe you youngin's can use it as a preventative lotion :) 

Nubar Nail Lacquers, Cruelty free, vegan nail polish!  Right up my alley.  I can't wait to use it in the late Fall.  However, I can wait for Fall, and winter.  Ugh.

H2O Plus Aquafirm & Micro Collagen Moisterizer, I'm always afraid to use new stuff on my face.  My skin is so loyal to my current products.  I haven't tried it yet, but I will give it a try.  I suppose I should be doing a post with results of all the products I've tried.  Glad I thought of that!

Blog Stalking Sundays, #12!

It's so good to be back home!  I'm a home-body, I like to be in my lovely home and work in the yard or just be at home.  It's hard to explain, but its all good :)  It also feels good to be back on my game, in the blogosphere!  So please enjoy my shout-outs to some pretty hip blogettes that I found during my Blog Stalking Sundays series!

I'm trying desperately to spend more time blogging.  Not sure I'll ever be the pro blogger that many of you are, but I'm trying.  I always say I'll have more time next week, to learn more about blogging, but then that week comes and goes.  So, I'll do my best whenever I can and hope that you all enjoy my posts.

Which leads me to talking about the "linkups" or "blog hops", and the like.  I am making a promise to myself to try and participate in more, get my blog in an updated/organized manner, and just have fun with it.  I enjoy this, but I don't put too much pressure on myself if I have to skip a day.  Especially when I'm on the road traveling or at the beach, where we often go.

I'll get on with it without anymore blah-blah, and mention my first blog stalking shout-out!

Kallie is a sweetie. I enjoy looking at her photos and posts. She stopped over to my blog, by way of the blog hop as well.  Funny thing, I was following her already due to blog stalking her a couple of weeks ago.  She's a cutie and her blog is just as cute.  Ironically, her Sunday Inspiration:Just be nice is something my hubster and I were talking about during our road trip.  We were so impressed by so many nice people in Raleigh, Charleston, and Savannah.  Check out Kallie and her blog, But First, coffee...so grab some!

Isn't this ironic!  Another Effie. Whose name is Kathryn. I found this on Kallie's (But First, Coffee) blog.  I was so interested in seeing what this Effie was all about.  Well, she's a cutie, for sure! It's actually Effie Vanity.  I believe Effie may have something to do with beauty in the UK.  Go see Kathryn, she's a lovely girl with a lovely blog.

Drivin' it on home, Part #2!

On the road again!
Goin' places that I've never been...
Seein' things that I may never see again.
And I can't wait to get on the road again!

Final destination, "home".  Yay!

Like I said, I love going away and visiting friends and all that fun stuff, but I always like going back home to my beautiful house and fur-babies!  I am so excited to see them.  Today is a whole week, and my Lucy is going to be soooo happy!  Chew-man is going to be slappin'-happy.  He is so cute, when he gets excited, he walks toward you slapping the floor and the side of his face, too frigging cute.  What a great rescue pup we ended up with. I sure do talk about my pups a lot, don't I ?  Well, get used to it :)

Where did I leave off?  Oh yeah, heading to Savannah.  What a lovely place!  I've been there before but never had the time to explore.  We stayed at a cool contemporary hotel, Andaz Savannah, on Barnard Street.  My hubster knows me well, with the hotel styles I love to stay in, modern-contemporary.  I love the furnishings and colors, I just get excited over it all.

I went way off my RAW wagon this trip.  Well, not too bad once I think about it.  I did have my green smoothies at mom's. Even got her to drink 2-ounces, wish I had that photo! Going out to dinner proved impossible at times.  Ugh, the thought.  Oh heck, what-ev-er-ER!  This was much deserved for a nice evening out. Plus, we walked it off.  

Lemon-drop martini with green fried tomatoes and asparagus.  Yum-meeee! The birds were very interested in our grub!

Then we walked a bit and saw these massive shipping barges.  I loved the cool walk way along the river and the backside of the street. So cool.

We even did a ghost & grave yard tour. Oh yes, we did it.  See the pic with mostly blackness, except for the whiteness in the top right area?  Ghost! BOO!

Then, as we watched someone do some likeness charcoal portraits, which were very likeness-questionable, we met this couple.  Melanie and David, from Atlanta.  So sweet and friendly.  David mentioned several times how friendly we are from up-north, compared to Jersians...hmmmm.  He must have had a bad experience with someone...?  We ended up having a drink and friendly chatter at the Cotton Exchange Tavern, on E River Street.  Oh, Oh, and they were married earlier that day!  How darling is that!!!

From there we headed back to Andaz, but not before stopping at the awesome Savannah's Candy Kitchen and Bryd's Famous Cookies store.  I'm not too keen on all the chocolate and candy but COOKIES (or cupcakes :) will stop me in my tracks!  Go online and buy some.  The scotch oatmeal cookies are 'da bomb!  No kidding.

As we headed out of Savannah bright and early, we didn't look forward to the 11.5 hours of black tar road ahead of us.  We are making our pit-stops and we've run into hard downpours that have slowed our travel.  Things are clear and dry now, less congestion.  I've been typing and stopping, dozed off, and fixing pictures and making collages to post.  So now I have to make this public, for your enjoyment of course :) and entertain the hubster with my singing, or perhaps my complaining of candy crusher!

All in all, it's been a great ride with the hubster.  We had some good quality time together, easy going and relaxing for the most part.  I want to thank my handsome hubster for his patience in driving 2,256 miles up to this point, with a couple hundred yet to go.  I hate driving and apoligized before leaving that I couldn't and wouldn't :) He's a good hubster. After all, it was his idea to drive :)  and what a good choice it was, hubs. 

While 95 is congested once again, what a surprise, and we snail-pace through Fredericksburg, I wish you a nice read here on my blog, and an even more, a lovely dry and sunny weekend ahead!

Drivin' it on home, Part #1

So now we are on our way home. After a pit-stop in Savannah, that is.  It's always nice to be away, but I really like it when I get back home. 

I feel like we've been gone forever-and-a-day. I usually don't like being gone for so long.  Although this trip is no exception, it's been fun to travel with the hubster on-the-road.  We are both pretty easy going, so it's easy to make decisions and just go-with-it.  No pressure. We are having fun.

BUT...!

I miss my fur-babies sooo much! I cannot wait to get home and couch potato with my Lucy-girl and hear Chewbacca lull me to sleep with his loud snoring!  Only a furbaby-mamma can appreciate that.

My last post ended with Charlotte, moving on to Ocala, FL.  My mother is moving back up north, so we were going to fly down and help her with yard sales and packing and such.  We botched that idea when we decided to keep-on-truckin' after dropping the college kid off at WVU.  

This is my mom and me. 

My mom wants to move back to where her family is, but she's been in FL for a long time and since her husband passed in 2002, she's been alone.  Except for the job (now gone), friends she's had, also have moved on or passed.  It's sad, to see her so overwhelmed with getting rid of everything she's known for so long and return to her roots with mostly nothing. She moves slow, health has been her enemy in some tough times.  My hubster is so patient and kind with her, he makes her laugh-cry through the tough stuff.  Cute to watch.  So, we packed some things and have brought some home for her, but have decided to let her take her time, since there is no hurry. Let her do things in the time frame she needs, to feel right and good within herself.  No hurry.  

Unfortunately while there, we had to put down her nearly 16-year old girl, Sasha.  The poor girl was walking around like a mechanical-stuffed-pooch.  She was sweet as could be, nearly 100% blind and deaf.  Fortunately, Sasha told us it was time for her to go.  I am so happy we were there to help and say goodbye. We stayed an extra night, to be with my mother. 

The vet experience was horrid!  So ridiculously rude, with little compassion.  I posted my furious experience on FB, but I can't seem to copy and past here as I ride in the car using my iPad.  (I really need to take Blogger lessons or something!)

We stayed at my mother's for four nights.  We had decent weather and some time in the pool.

Some down pours as FL often has, daily.  

My favorite part was finding some pictures and memories. This is my boy, the just turned 30-year old!

Lake Weir, in Belleview.  In all these years, I never ventured there.  Hubster had a good idea.  Look how beautiful!  Ocala isn't the most happening place, but to see this surely proves it has beauty.  

I just love these trees!  The lake was so nice. 

I could imagine the family crowds during the weekends. 

As we head to Savannah, only a short 13-miles away, I wonder how many blogger peeps I've passed along the way down South, and now back up North.  

BTW, the kid we dropped off at college?  

We've heard from him, believe it or not.  The first night actually, "I love it here" was all he said.  Ha. The hubster and I looked at each other and giggled.  We're just hoping he loves it enough to study hard and stay the good kid he is, or else! :)

Road'ing Down South

We've been on the road since last Friday. So my postings have been lax. Is there anybody out there?

Dropping our 18-year old off at college, for his first year, first semester of college!!! So proud.

Visiting my late friend, whom I miss so very much.

Kojak, the mostly Pit, is so sweet.  Loved him.  I think he loved me too, haha.

Off to Charlotte...my other friends. So much fun!

On another note, this week I've been a bit off on my blogging. It's been crazy! In addition to birthdays, taking a teen to college hours away, and starting a road trip from that point. The best part? It was unexpected (the road trip, that is) and we are getting to see some friends I haven't seen in 8-10 years!  I am so exited. 

With that, I'm doing a Where in the Heck is Wendy Week! I'll be posting picks, tweeting about them, and hoping y'all try to guess where I am. Maybe some of you will live near the places & things I post. I hope it's as fun as it sounds!  Haha.
