Is it really Wednesday already?  Wow.  Time flies, doesn't it?

Haha, check out the glasses. I couldn't find my eye glass leash. You know, the necklace your glasses attach to, that wraps around your neck all pretty and blingy? Yeah that. (Need to make another. Right hubster?) So I improvised with a sunglass chocker.  I guess you use it for riding or something so your glasses don't fly off. Definitely a choke hold with them. So I added some pink ribbon to extend them a bit.  Hey, it worked and it's PINK! 

So let's use this Wish List Wednesday to get me a brand new outfit. Something cute and sassy that I should be wearing around the house, rather than farmer Betsy. (No disrespect to any Betsy out there.  That works on a farm.)

I had to go through my iTunes to check this out.  Not that they are my favorite, but they are some mood lifters to git-ur-git-up-going! 1 Led Zeppelin, Thank You - This is our wedding song.  It always makes me smile.  2 Van Morrison, Moon Dance - It's a soothing song while cooking and drinking some wine, on repeat. 3 Saving Jane, Super Girl - Keeps me moving, while cleaning or working out/running. I am super girl!
4 Pistol Annies, Hell on Heels - Such a fun giddy-up kinda' song. 5 Miranda Lambert,   Mama's Broken Heart - I play this over n' over,  just to learn all the words.  FUN!

Wish List Wednesday!

I need some inspiration for my spare room.  Our little princess moved out of her suite, and we have company coming.  Yay! I have six-weeks to get this done.  We did hit-up Ikea this past weekend, and purchased some items.  This is what I'm hoping to see upon completion.  Although I can tell you now, this is not what we bought. Yikes.

Topic: Get a certain for favorite lyric/s from your favorite song, tell how it inspires or describes me

My song choice is Paradise, by Bruce Springsteen. I chose this song because it reminds me of my sweet father, my daddy.  He passed away in 2003. Too early. Too young.  

While he was living with me in his last few months, me with my son, watched my father out on the patio with both hands in the air, headsets on, listening to Paradise.  We could hear him singing and humming. It was beautiful music to my ears, just hearing him so peaceful and content.  He was going through a lot of health issues.  He was wearing a concert t-shirt I had bought him at the recent Bruce concert I went to.  My dad loved music, maybe that's why I find so much meaning in lyrics.

When I hear this verse, I dream of my dad thinking of a young girl from grade-school that he may have adored.  It leaves sweet memories for me, even if only in my own story.

My dad would always play with my hair, tell me how pretty it was. He would hold my cheek in his hand, and just smile his huge grin.  Or tell me how proud he was of me.

They're as empty as paradise 

My dad rests alongside a canal, that leads to the Delaware River.  This helps me to dream that one day, I'll see him again, on the other side.  Until then, I am empty without him.  This song makes me happy, because I see memories and I smile when I hear it.  I don't always think of a song for the story it tells from the song writer view. I see what it says to me.  As in this case, I don't always pay attention to all the lyrics that have different meaning.  The beauty is, I get to pick what I want the song or lyrics, to say to me. 

We also used to sit and listen to Mary Poppins on dad's old stereo console.  Similar to this:

THAT, was the best.  He would put his huge headset on me, so I could hear it.  His grin, was priceless.

Wednesday Wish List!

First and far more important than my WWL...today marks the 12th anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001. Too many people lost their lives that day, too many loved ones still missing them.  Today with you, my thoughts are with those that lost their lives, those that continue to honor their memories, those who have fought for us, died for us, and those that continue to fight for us. This is in honor of all of them & all of you, to keep us remembering.

Now is the time of year to head back to the beach to soak up the last of the warm days and take advantage of the peacefulness, the gentler weather on the bicycle!  I l-o-v-e riding my bike at the beach.  I can just go for hours looking at the beauty and smelling the air.  Sitting on the deck, relaxing.  Walks on the beach, because the crowds are gone.  Warm caramel popcorn (yes, I'll jump off the wagon for that!). Prep's Pizza, because I like it better than Manco & Manco/Mack & Manco. The cars parked in every square inch, gone. Watching the sun set.

As the cooler weather sets in on us in the weeks to come, this is what I want to wear in the evening, strolling on the board walk!

Now this is a master bedroom! It's time for a change, and I am all about black & white.  If I could, I'd have white in the living room and kitchen! It's what I've always wanted but was never brave enough to do.  So just maybe, I can talk the hubster into just the master....for now :)  

Isn't this lovely?  One accent wall behind the bed.  A couple of black chairs near the fireplace (I am lucky enough to one), a huge black mirror that stands against the wall (to replace the espresso one I currently have), and a mirrored or white, accent storage unit.  The master is huge, so I have room to play with different styles.  My current bedroom furniture pieces could be used throughout the house.  Making another room seem fresh and new.  My bedroom closet houses all my things so I don't need a dresser. Just a unit for that "other" stuff we store, but don't really need. You know, like too many handbags, belts, sweatshirts, etc... I should really work on purging that stuff,  like I have been doing with everything else.  Slowly...

Maybe my closet just needs to be bigger.  With a wall for those shoes and handbags, sweaters and things we fold...jeans to just lay out on the shelf, and a big fat ottoman to sit my cute-self on while putting on those shoes.  I may as well kick in a nice big jewelry unit to display everything at once, this way it wouldn't be as hard to figure out which piece I'm going to wear each day.

Wait, oh yes, I'm dreaming! Fat chance of that.  Enjoy this beauty.  If I can make it happen, maybe I'll be showing you my flip-this-master, before & after!

Wednesday Wish List!

Wednesday is here, and I'm listing it!  WWL round 8?  Really?  Some days it feels as if I've been blogging for years.  It seems each time I put in a number of times I've posted a series, I can't believe it hasn't been more.  Is that a good thing? I suppose it is as long as I want to keep coming back to post.

I'm loving this WWL, with it's sass and comfort combined with elegance.  Well, I think so anyway :)  It's perfect to wear out on a Double Date Night with your other friends 'n' hubsters, or vice versa.

THIS, is what I want to be wearing in the afternoon, this weekend, while walking through some small beach towns, taking in the shops and sitting at the outdoor restaurants getting a bite to eat, sipping on a cool drink!  A nice strong drink, because I deserve that martini this weekend, honey!

It's the WWL time of the week, once again!  Love, love, love this day.  I'm trying something different this week, putting an entire outfit together that I would personally wear.

I'm thinking of the beach, and all the dresses and accessories a girl could have fun with.  Things that can be worn anywhere, anytime.  I would wear this outfit in the afternoon for lunch with the girls, or on a warm evening at dinner near the beach, with the hubster.  This is a great put-together outfit to take a stroll, in your favorite little town.  I have a couple in mind near me, when not at the beach.

Black and white are my favorite, but I like to incorporate a pop of color for a little excitement.  Pink, is my all time fun color, in pretty much anything.

Even with all the handbags and clutches I have, I really need this clear clutch!  I've been wanting one for the longest time.

I'm still really liking the maxi's (for the third year in a row, I haven't tired of them) and the chevron pattern is one I don't have, but need to get.

Wearing the maxi with a little wedge flip-flop is a must for me!  I live in my flip flops. Someday I'll have to take a photo of my dozens upon dozens. I have soooo many shoes I don't wear, because flips are so much easier to throw on, and to walk in. By the time I want to wear heels, I forget how :) Who am I kidding!  It's like getting back on the horse.

WWL.  Whew-hooo!  Getting right to it.

This cashmere fringe poncho, (amazed they still call them ponchos) is so cute.  I actually have a couple of them.  So comfy and a great throw-on for the nights on the boardwalk or breezy walks in your home town.  Cute, cute.  Plus, it's on sale!  Grab it.

They say this is perfect for those lazy days.  I say the movies, the grocery store, the beach, the mall...and I love the pink!  This looks so comfy.  

V-Neck cocoon top.  Adorable!  I love this tie look.  

This crew-neck long sleeve sweater is gorgeous!  I'm all for this color, neon yellow.

The WWL is here once again, peeps! I always welcome this day of the week.  Haven't I said that before?  Who doesn't want to wish for a list of goodies?  Ohhh, the happiness it brings.

Here we go!!!

I'm thinking the 4th colors.  They are cheery and bright, and fitting for this holiday week.  This is a perfect gift for family or friends.  Personalization is always a nice gift.  For the pool area or the beach house! 

This item is a bit different than the ones below, but I really like it!

I had to throw these into the mix.  Someone will run out to purchase these holiday fun skinny pants, at the last moment!  Cute, cute, cute. Nothing says picnic like these skinny's! 

How about the nails?  Paint the flag on your nails or any design of red, white & blue!  My step-daughter did a great design on hers with a white base and then blew the red and blue on through a straw!  They turned out so cute.  (Wish I had a photo.)

Have you ever heard of mark.?  It is part of the Avon products.  I used to sell Avon and I really liked the "mark." brand. This lip stain in nice, especially with a little gloss on top.

For our 5th and final item...(couldn't stop at the 4th :) this cute maxi dress.  How comfy does this look?
