I'm Wendy, a Jersey Girl living in PA with my hubster, a blended family, & pups.  

A lover of many things, I'll be sharing with you some of my favorite. From my RAW eating ways & sharing those recipes, DIY projects (my husband laughs each time I say "we can make that!"), all things beauty, my obsession with photos (especially of my furry kids), skin care (because I am a specialist and have a license to prove it :) and anything at random.

Oh…and you may be wondering..."Why Effie Girl"?

L-O-V-E the name, Effie. This is a photo of me (the chubby one), with the original Effie Girl... my Nan. If my mother were to have it her way, rather than my Nan saying “Don’t you dare!” today I would be Effie May. Bummer.  Maybe Nan was teased in her young age. Maybe she just didn’t like her name, or maybe I wouldn’t have liked it at a younger age either. But I can say now, I definitely would have appreciated it today. So here I am making use of it, as a part of me. A tribute to Nan and myself, the Effie Girl blog, living it & loving it, and having lots of fun with it!!

The Effie name meaning:

Effie \e(f)-fie\ as a girl’s name is pronounced EF-ee. It is of Greek origin, and the meaning of Effie is “well-spoken”. It also means “fair speech”. Fair, agreeing with what is thought to be right or acceptable. A spoken expression of ideas, opinions, etc. 

For the record, I am not Greek…but I am opinionated  :-)
